The iPhone

Yes, I’m one one of those people who stood in line for the iPhone 3G. No, I didn’t wait in line all day. After Apple fixed the glitch they had with activation, the line started moving so I decided to hop in.

I’ve never owned an iPhone before, so this is all new to me. There are a few things I find odd or strangely missing, but overall it’s pretty sweet.

Just for the heck of it, I am writing this post using the iPhone. My wife hates the onscreen keyboard and I understand if you’re trying to write anything long. That’s clearly not what it’s for. But I for one think it works fairly well. Impressively well.

But the big deal is the App Store and the SDK. I look forward to playing with that.

Hi Tom. I am in the process of deciding whether to buy a blackberry or an iphone. After using pcs all my life, I got a Mac recently and won’t ever go back to pc. However, that doesn’t mean the phone is better (Mac). Neither one has a standard (old fashoined) headset plug, so either way I can’t get that, they both have GPS. I’m wondering what the advantages of the iphone are over something like a Blackberry. Whatever you have found out so far with yours would be a help. I like this site, btw.
